A kebaya portrait

The painting above is an abstract portrait painting of me done by Malacca based artist Everlyne Tai whom I happened to meet while shooting Beauty Secrets from the East in Malacca.

I absolutely love the colour of the kebaya and the detailing on the jewellery...

I met Anya Hindmarch again!

A few years ago, I met Anya Hindmarch for the first time at Carcosa for the launch of her Be A Bag campaign.

And just recently, I met her again during the launch of her new store at Pavillion.

red shoes

When my cousin's little girl was over at my house recently, she happened to see my red shoes. She kept pointing to the shoes and to her dress, indicating that my shoes would match better with her dress than the ones she was wearing.

To her parents, I do not accept responsibility for her aking you to buy her red shoes to match her dress!

back to roots....

I'm excited, nervous and terrified....

Why?

Because wonderful new things are happening and I have to keep up..

And I also have to brush up my dance technique....

A Hat Fiasco on Style with Sasha

Sometimes I remember things so clearly and accurately as if it just happened when in actual fact it was years ago..

And then there are other times when I forget what I did two minutes ago..

South Africa - Majalah 3, finally on air!

Finally, after weeks of me sharing stories and photos from South Africa, it's going to go on air very soon!

Above is photo of me with the car I drove along the Garden Route while I was there as part of the winners group of Shell's Made to Move competition. It was an awesome car to drive!

I have to thank and give a big congratulations to Shell for this trip. Usually I'm always sceptical about competitions, are they really real? Do these big prizes really exist?

With Shell, I know they really do! It was a fantastic trip and now you will get to see it!

And, I have another competition! You're going to LOVE this prize.....

5 lucky winners will win a RM50 Shell petrol voucher! (Thank you Shell)

And the question is - Name 4 locations we visited while in South Africa.

First 5 emails with the correct answers emailed to sasha_a_b@yahoo.com will win. Please also include your Full name, IC number, Postal address and handphone number.

So don't forget to watch

Majalah 3

Saturday, 9 pm

20th October 2007

exclusively on TV3

And just to share with you some photos of the director and cameraman with me on this trip, Fadli Mazlan. Fadli and I worked together on Beauty Secrets from the East as well. I think he has done a fantastic job on this documentary.
Fadli and I call these pictures 'gambar bukti buat kerja' (photos proving we're doing our job)

And the lovely guy with Fadli and I in this photo is Ben. Thank you Ben for looking after us so well...

sandy slippers

I love this photo. While I was at Perhentian Island for the Perhentian Island Challenge, as I was sitting on a rock on the sandy beach, someone said to me, "hey sasha, look, the sand has followed the shape of your slippers!"

So we took a photo....

In Bangkok

I just remembered that last year, when I was in Bangkok shooting Explorace Season 3, I met a really cute young elephant.

And these are the pictures that captured the moment..

I say elephants have personalities too and this darling was very warm and friendly. It's eyes were so trusting too...

animals in south africa

A baby elephant and it's Mummy... It's only a few days old...

And to me, this vulture looks like a mad scientist and reminds me of Albert Einstein cause of it's 'hair'...

Otters at Cango Wildlife Ranch - South Africa

I saw these adorable otters at the Cango Wildlife Ranch in South Africa, the same place where I met the cheetahs....

I loved watching them move in the water... Incredibly graceful...

And they kept looking at us and the expression on their face was the same as how my cats look at me when they are hungry...

"ummm....excuse me.... got anything good to eat? kinda hungry...."

So cute...

Otters are very playful animals and only have a life span of about 20 years. They love to eat frogs, fish and crabs. They fear crocodiles and pythons as they are the animals that eat them and no two otters have the same markings on their body....

I wish I could have otters as pets..

I also wish I could have cheetahs and tigers as pets..

Maybe I should just live at a zoo...

more from south africa

sitting on an ostrich. there is such a thing as ostrich races as demonstrated by these two workers at the ostrich farm.I think they are such beautiful animals. But you wouldn't want to have them kick you with their sharp claws! The injuries could kill you!
such cute faces....

And just look at the feathers on this female ostrich. Having the feathers two toned like this is very rare...
more animals from south africa coming soon..
