F1 Fantasy Gala Dinner & Earth Wind & Fire concert

On Friday, 6th of April, the 2007 F1 Fantasy Gala Dinner was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

And the hall did look pretty spectacular!

Everyone was so dressed up in the finest wear..... all the men wore suits (boring!).... it was so much more interesting to look at what the women were wearing.... there were beautiful long gowns, intricate kebayas and glittering baju kurungs.....

I chose to wear a long dress by local designer Edmunser. This dress is unbelievably comfortable and moves so nicely when one walks.... I dressed it up with dangling pearl earrings, diamante cuffs and a vintage Valentino evening bag....

The Emcee's for the night were the iconic Wan Zaleha Radzi and Mahadzir Lokman....

I admire both of them for their grace and elegance in handling functions... Wan Zaleha is still very highly regarded by the crew of TV3... Some of them who are still with TV3 nad used to work with her still have a lot of admiration and respect for her...

She also has the most flawless skin!!!

One of the entertainers for the night was Datuk Siti Nurhaliza. She sang only English songs.... and I have to say she sang them well..... I'm not so sure about the outfit she was wearing though... I've seen her wear nicer things....

Dinner was nice, but the higlight for me was when they put these huge chocolate decorations on the table.... i definitely finished most of the chocolates on my table!

After the dinner was over, everyone relocated to another hall to watch the legendary group Earth Wind & Fire..... Guests with the Fantasy Gala dinner were ushered to the exclusive 'black circuit area...

These guys have been around for like 30 years... Although I don't have any of their cd's, rcords or cassettes, I definitely recognised some of their songs. And the audience, especially the more mature individuals (don't hate me for saying that) were having the time of their life....

The show finished so late!!! And my brother some friends and myself got lost on our way out of the Convention Centre. We walked up and down the same corridor 3 times. I ended up taking of my high heels cause it was just to painful to walk anymore... Not long after that, I saw that many other ladies were carrying their jewelled shoes in their hands too!!!

But it was definitely a fun night...

Very sorry..... very busy...

To my faithful readers,

My sincere apologies for not updating much recently.... I've been travelling for shoots ad haven't had access to internet connections.... You're probably wondering what is it I'm working on...I have been requested not to reveal what I'm involved in until the launch.....

Lots and lots and lots has been going on.... As I write this my eyes are heavy from too little sleep and I'm about to leave for another round of intense shooting....

But as I always say, it's all good and I'm thankful for all of it... My exhaustion is merely a sign that I have a busy life and working hard... I am afraid of neither....

As soon as I get the chance to sit down at a computer with reliable internet connection, I will be happily blogging away again.....

In the meantime though, I found this picture of me from when I was about 6 years old, maybe even younger.... even then I was more than happy to sit in front of a camera and pose..... The photo was taken by one of my Mum's best friends who loves photography..

Little did anyone realise that this was the beginning of things to come....

Chanel

Friday, in the late evening was the Chanel Ready-to-wear Spring Summer Collection at Maya Hotel....

I wore a vintage Chanel tweed jacket from the 1997 Spring Summer Collection, Chanel pants from 2003 Autmn Winter Collection, vintage Chanel handbag from the late 80's and Sungai Wang shoes... same ones I wore for Coach event..... Yes, proof that one take some of the most expensive items in fashion land and mix them with items from a shoping centre which has some of the best junky stuff!

Now these clothes, you could not find in Sungai Wang! I really wish I could...

The current trend seems to be very bare legs... micro mini skirts... Most mortal human beings could not walk around wearing what these models are wearing.... I would pair everything with long pants, long skirts and tights....

(by the way, I totally agree that skinny and underweight models should not be on the catwalk)

All of the clothes hung and moved beautifully.... and a lot of the stuff is definitely classic. As always, in true Chanel style, there was lots of black and white.

The detailing in Chanel clothes in legendary..... I'll give you an example.. on the inside of my tweed jacket at the bottom end of the body section, a small gold chain is sewn all the way around... why you ask? So that the jacket hangs perfectly and doesn't move unnecessarily.....

Everyone at the event was dressed in their Chanel best.... but I always find it humorous and almost sad when a group of female friends go to events and they all look like clones of each other... same hair, very similar clothes and variations of the same handbag... There is nothing wrong with being individual...please find your own identity and sense of style!

Of course, tjere were a lot of magazine editors there...

I saw Suzie Adnan from GLAM magazine who is a writer with the prestigious magazine and was one of the co-ordinators for the April cover shoot....

Want to know who is the man who transformed my hair and made me up to look like a barbie doll for my GLAM cover? Here he is.... Razlan......

My weekend should be fairly uneventful.... I'm going to enjoy it because next week is a very hectic week!

And the madness began...

Thursday started off in a very usual way...
Go to the office.... get things organised...
In the evening I went to the DKNY Spring Summer fashion show......
I didn't find this event all that exciting... firstly there was no MC so no one actually knew what was going on.... Suddenly loud music started playing which gave everyone a fright and the fashion show started..... after about 15 minutes, it ended... and everyone just looked at each other thinking "ok, what now?"....

MC's are important in a function... It gives the audience a sense of someone being in control and someone who knows what's going on...

Some of the clothes were nice but most of them I felt that if I walked around Sungai Wang long enough I would find stuff that looked exactly the same....

So I left and headed to KLCC for the Anya Hindmarch Spring Summer Collection launch. There was definitely stuff there I wanted to buy, but on my budget, I always have to wait for sales...

Then suddenly, in walks these two ladies...

Yes, Ning and Yanie....

We held lots of bags and Yanie and I dreamt of having more money to buy the things we liked... We'll get there one day Yanie!

I didn't realise this at the time but from this point on, this is when the madness began!

Ning, Yanie and I were all hungry so we went to Chinoz in KLCC to have some food... all healthy stuff..... salads and vegetables.... (he he he he)

We were then joined by Mr Manager and Gangstarz judge Vernon and the other Gangstarz judge Maple... My goodness we can make a lot of noise together!

You may not know this... Maple used to choreograph bak up dancing for Ning's shows and I was one of the back up dancers.. That's how we all know each other...

One show I really remember us doing was at Dataran Merdeka. One minute before we went out on stage, one of the lights exploded and glass was all over the stage. No one cleaned it up so we were forced to perform with broken glass. The stage wasn't really a stage either... The floor was all ugly pink and grey tiles which made it very slippery and almost impossible to dance on... I felt like I was dancing in a big open air bathroom and trying to avoid all the broken glass.... The things us live performers have to cope with on the spot.... Sigh!

Once we had all eaten, we went walking around the shopping centre.... I don't remember any of us buying anything which is a miracle.... We were like a mini circus or something because everyone in KLCC just kept looking at the 4 of us as we walked thorugh the place...

Then Maple asked me to join her at her restaurant Tamarind Springs were the current finalists of Gangstarz were to spend an evening over dinner with Ning....

Here are some things I learnt too while listening to Ning talk to the Gangstarz contestants

1 - You can never go wrong eating fruits, vegetables and salads

2 - Humming is really good for your voice

3 - The first note of a song is very important

4 - Listen to the keyboard

5 - Be open to comments

She is definitely an inspirational speaker......

Also, one of the buttons on my jacket came off before I arrived at Tamarind Springs... and Vernon didn't notice, because if he did, he definitely would have said something.... The advantage of having long hair to cover things up!

The food was really good too!!!! I'll leave Vernon to talk about the food... He does better food reviews....

Today, a meeting for an upcoming program I am doing.... I cannot reveal what yet, but it's on the way! I'm very excited.... I'll keep you informed...

Fiesta Media Idola and the privileges of a cat's life

On Tuesday, I participated in the Launch of the upcoming Fiesta Media Idola. It's a sports event where participants are various media companies.... including Media Prima, Karangkraf, Berita Harian, NSTP, Astro and RTM...
We started at Astro in the morning and we visited all of the buildings of the participating companies.....

I don't think I have ever been around the Klang Valley so much in one day...

Later at night was the big launch at Sri Pentas attended by guest of Honour Tengku Muda Pahang.
This year, the event will be held in Kuantan, Pahang.... I am to participate in the 5 x 80 metre relay athletics.... I did run in school, but that was a while ago so we have all been asked to go for some training again so as not to completely embarass ourselves on the race day!
On Wednesday, I did a lot of small tasks.... the usual editing, compiling and paper work....

After work, I rush home to shower and change to attend a fashion show by Nine West and Anne Klein...
When I get home, this is what I find....
Schizo lounging on the wall...
Joberg asleep on top of the cupboard and Tippex just watching the world go by....

When I've had really busy and hectic days, seeing them live their lives in such a simple way makes me want to just be a furry four leg cat!!! No deadlines, no phone calls.... just food, sleep and chasing a few small creatures when you feel like it....

Traffic was not that great getting into town... the usual jams....

I saw several shoes I liked and most of clothes were black.... Didin't buy anything because as I said before, I've banned myself from buying anymore black clothes!!!

two more events later today.... will post later...

GLAM April issue 2007

Remember I wrote a few weeks ago that I had a photo shoot with GLAM magazine, well now you can see the photos from that photo shoot!

The April anniversary issue of GLAM is out now...

Can you tell which one is me in the photo I took of the cover?

I have to say that I am very proud to be a part of this magazine...

But also, I don't look like that when I wake up in the morning!

Special thank you to Kak Wirda, editor of GLAM for choosing me and the talented GLAM team for producing yet another GLAMourous cover!

Get your copy now!!!

A beautiful romantic event

On Saturday night, I attended a family friends 55th wedding anniversary celebration for their parents...
I chose to wear a real vintage fully sequinned baju kurung given to me by a dear friend. She gave it to me cause she said she would never wear it again because it's too heavy. She wasn't joking! Because of all the beading, it weighs almost 3 kilos! I know cause I weighed it....

The Shangri-La ballroom was decorated so beautifully!
I purposely chose to sit at a table with the huge centrepieces because I just thought they were so beautiful..

Datuk Siti Nurhaliza also attended the event and sang 3 songs as a gift to the couple of honour...

Of course I took the opportunityto take a photo with this Malaysian icon....

Thy actually had good desserts too... and because I went to the gym earlier in the day, I ate them without feeling guilty at all!!! food was served until 1 am! Yay!

Half way through the night though I realised it's not exactly easy to walk around in such a heavily beaded baju.... But honestly, I enjoyed wearing it....
Will I wear it again? Of course! But only to a function where I don't have to walk around!

Linda Onn on Apa-Apa Aje

Every Thursday on Apa-Apa Aje, we have a celebrity guest to participate in the shows debates and hysterical conversations.

Last Thursday, I was the floor manager, as I am every Thursday, and the guest was Linda Onn.

To my Malaysian readers, if you don't know who Linda Onn is, that means you haven't been reading the newspapers in recent weeks....

The show as always was funny and I as floor manager have to control my laughter every time so that I'm not heard on air....

Below is a shot of Sheila, Shamsul and the cameramen preparing to go live on air...

And this is me with the main producer of the show, Che Rozaini in the control room....

Jom Heboh 2007 - Kuantan

The hugely successful TV3 Karnival called 'Jom Heboh' is back in 2007!

Regular followers to come to this once a month event held in a different state every month are of course very glad to hear this...

I left with crew, staff and other TV3 personalities last Friday for the first location of 2007, Kuantan Pahang.

As soon as we arrived, we didn't have long to check into the hotel before we had to leave again to visit a children's orphanage to spend some time with them.... Some of the TV3 staff helped load the goodie bags for the children into the bus....

At the children's orphanage, all of the TV3 personalities were completely swamped by the children who wanted autographs and photographs.... Of course, we were more than happy to oblige and signed all the little notebooks that were given to us to sign....

The next day, all the action began..... My call time was 6.30 am (never easy for anyone!)... I was one of the first batch of people to arrive at Padang MPK2 because in the live morning show from the location called "Pagi @ Jom Heboh", fellow TV3 personality Tabah Shazwan (who hosts Scoreboard) and myself had to perform the flying fox for live tv! The two hosts on Saturday were Ally Iskandar and Zetty.... This is them preparing for their live telecast...

And this is Tabah and I all geared up in safety equipment for the flying fox....

Tabah - Eh! Takut juga kan nak buat benda ni... Sasha, macam mana nak buat ni??!!

Me - Terbang aje! Tak sempat nak panic mesti dah habis!

He survived.... and at the end of it said to me "Cepatnya habis!".... yes, exactly what I told you!

Sorry but no picture of us actually doing the stunt...

During Jom Heboh, I also did my first live crossover. I was SO NERVOUS! My task was to interview the manager of the Paintball activity so viewers knew what activities are available at Jom Heboh.... I sent an sms to my family to watch the live crossover and they said they didn't think I was nervous.... So I think it's pretty safe to say I did ok....

Over the duration of the weekend I participated in lots of activities at the various booths and took posed and smiled for lots and lots of pictures... I remember the very first time I attended Jom Heboh my show Explorace - Season 3 wasn't on yet... So no one ever asked to take a picture with me... Now... things are very different for me at Jom Heboh...

The biggest highlight of Jom Heboh is definitely the concert featuring various Malaysian singers on Sunday night.... The crowd is unbelievable! Just take a look at the picture below.... this is only 25% percent of the crowd!

They were so excited about the show... when I went forward on the stage to take the photo above, they started clapping and cheering... it's not very clear in the picture but many of them started waving the big red hand shaped card board thing they received while at Jom Heboh!

And of course all of us personalities on the stage posing for my camera.... even after two long days of endless photo taking with the crowd of Jom Heboh, I had no problem getting them to gether to pose for more.... I suppose if we didn't love being in front of the camera we shouldn't be doing this job!!!!

There was also a huge hot air balloon during the concert which completely fascinated the crowd!

After the launch of the concert, all of us were released from our duties and allowed to go back to the hotel.... all we wanted to do was have a good dcrub in the shower to remove all of the grime and sweat from the heat of the day....

Monday afternoon we all arrived back at the office and as soon as I got back in, I had preparations to do to direct my segment "Che AAA' for Apa-Apa Aje.... I really just wanted to go home and play with my cats, but work needs to be done first...

Yesterday I successfully directed a shoot covering 3 episodes of 'Che AAA' and now I need to prepare for a shoot next week for "Luahan Hati' and find more locations for 'Che AAA'...

What a week ahead!

Apa-Apa Aje Bowling Tournament

On Friday, 2nd of March, the annual Apa-Apa Aje Bowling Tournament was held at One Utama's bowling Alley, U-Bowl.

12 teams took part in the competition and each team was named after a praticular TV3 show. Of course there was the Apa-Apa Aje team... other teams included the Explorace team, Sensasi, My Tv3 and Mentor.....

with Sheila and Shamsul, the hosts of Apa-Apa Aje

Can you guess which team I played for? Explorace of course!

Now I'm not exactly a good bowler....

My ball kena longkang banyak kali ok!

I also broke a nail... but I did manage to score one strike! That was some kind of miracle....

And I also managed to win one hamper in the lucky draw!

Some of the people I saw there included Yanie who was playing with the Mentor team...

Also Mr Manager aka Vernon Kedit and currently judge on TV3's Gangstarz.....

Vernon and I have a strange friendship... and I mean that in the most positive way... Everytime I see him, I just start laughing.. don't know why I just do! Then we carry on talking from our last conversation, whenever that was.... could have been months before but we just carry on talking...

Almost everyone went home with a prize... whether it was through the lucky draw or team prizes...

The team winners were
1st place - Mentor
2nd place - Apa-Apa Aje
3rd place - Senario

What I enjoyed most about the night is that everyone was there to just have a good time.... No one cared how well or how badly you played.. we just wanted to have some fun together...

And really... we need some fun in our lives.... not everything should be taken so seriously.....
