zzzzzzz.....
dragging one's body out of bed first thing on a Saturday morning to go and do yoga is a real test of self discipline. Lucky I have my sister who somehow manages to drag me out of bed and gets me there.
And what is it I was doing last night that had me so tired this morning?
Hand washing vintage clothes.... seriously....
And playing dress up....

and now, a broken phone...
i love all things vintage and antique. besides the clothes, jewellery and accessories, i love old phones. i found a gorgeous black vintage phone while i was shooting Explorace in Bangkok. not only was it in perfect condition, it worked as well! It makes that gorgeous bell sound...
Today, somehow, Joberg knocked it over and a quarter of the phone is now broken into bits...
I'm so mad at her because I was looking for a phone like that for the longest time and to find one in perfect working condition is really rare. Now, it's not...
My brother has been assigned to fix it and super glue all the bits back together.
But I will still look for another one now....
i know it's not the end of the world, but i just really liked that phone :(

Tippex and a mouse
I come home to hear a little creature screaming.
Tippex has cornered a little mouse which is terrified and squealing in complete fear.
I cannot help but intervene and distract Tippex to let the mouse get away.
Why can't we all just get along...
sigh....

launch of 'it's a girl thing'
The day started off with a photo shoot for the January issue of WANITA magazine where I was transformed with a very feminine look.
As soon as I finished, I rushed to the Convention Centre for the launch of 'It's A Girl Thing' where I was transformed again, but this time for the dance performance.
The launch attended by Yang Berbahagia Dato Shahrizat went well with no major mishaps. The event also featured a fashion charity auction featuring some very experienced and glamorous models. I'm sure you will recognise the gorgeous girls in the photos below.

And Arianna is seriously one of the nicest people I've ever met. It has been an absolute pleasure working with her.
Do come along over the weekend to watch the dance shows and to do some shopping at the exhibition booths at the Convention Centre Hall 1. Show times are Saturday at 1pm and Sunday at 5pm. Here's a photo from one of the shows today.
And just to share with you too, the other day at rehearsals I got the shock of my life when I happened to glance in one of the dancer's bags.
Can you see? It's a little bunny rabbit! She actually brought it to rehearsal!
Every now and then the cute little thing would look out of the bag to watch the rehearsals.

It's a girl thing..
This weekend (24th & 25th November) at the Kuala Lumpur exhibition Centre is an event called 'It's A Girl Thing'. There will be booths on health and lot's of shopping booths.
As part of the event, there is a fashion theatre where I will be performing!
I would love you to come along and watch. My performance times are
If you're wondering who Shay is, he's an awesome dancer who's latest gig was touring and performing in Madonna's Confessions tour!
There are some absolutely fantastic dancers performing, doing funky hip hop moves and spins. Here they are enjoying a good meal after a hard day of rehearsals.
So do come along for a bit of fun over the weekend!
I even painted my nails purple to match Jovian's purple dress....

old age..
old age is terrible, especially when loved ones around can only watch and feel helpless as the body fails.
I don't know if it's better to die suddenly or to die slowly due to illness.
If you know you're dying, maybe it can give one a chance to do things one wants to do before times up.
But if you go suddenly, you will know no pain...
In a world where so much is disposable and replaceable, the sheer permanence of death is just horrible.
All that's left then is hope that maybe tomorrow will be better.

Schizo???!!!!
As far as I remember, one of my cats, Schizo has mainly white fur with black and brown markings. So when I came home the other day to see this brown cat, I really thought a stray cat had just come in and made itself comfortable.
I then realise, it's actually Schizo!
Hey Schizo??!!! Where have you been and what on earth have you been doing???!!!
You need a bath!

Daywear vs Nightwear
I have come to the definite conclusion that I do not find day wear as inspiring as evening wear.
Why?
Because I always seem to want to buy more evening dresses, and I love glittering evening shoes....
One of my closest friends on the other hand though dresses so beautifully during the day and finds it so hard to buy evening wear.
I have more evening and glittering shoes and bags than suitable practical day items. I love embroidered dressing gowns in velvet and chiffon too. I would rather wear something like that to lounge around the house in!
I'm going to blame my mother for this. Because all of the fashion shows my mother took me too when I was 5 were evening wear fashion shows. I thought that's how women are ALWAYS supposed to dress.
Really, why not?

Gourmet food festival
About two weeks ago now I went to the launch of the Malaysian Gourmet Food Festival. I was so looking forward to it and couldn't wait to taste all of the yummy desserts.
The ballroom of the One World hotel was decorated quite beautifully with all of the different booths doing their best to out do each other's display.
I thought Tamarind Springs was the best though, with beautiful goddess like creature moving gracefully high above the crowds heads.
Some of the food was absolutely great... But I have to say I was disappointed with the desserts.
Why?
Because all the chocolate based desserts (which is the only kind of desserts I'm interested in!) had alcohol in them! And a lot of it too! They looked nice though.
And it was almost impossible to get just a simple glass of plain water. There was an absolute excess of wine, champagne and I don't know what other alcoholic drinks. Two of my friends who don't drink as well spent most of the night trying to get plain water to drink. We couldn't even get juice.
And do desserts REALLY have to have alcohol in them to taste good?!
Please, I just wanted a really good sinful chocolate dessert...
Maybe I should just go to Bakerzin to solve my chocolate craving.

Chicago in London
The hit musical 'Chicago' which was also made into a movie starring Renee Zelweger, Ctherine Zeta Jones and Queen Latifah is on here in Kl this weekend.
I've had the pleasure of seeing this show on stage live twice and when I was in London recently, I watched it for the third time because I was very, VERY curious to see how Kelly Osbourne, famous daughter of slightly crazy Ozzy Osbourne and Sharon Osbourne, would handle her role as Mama Morton.
For those who have seen the movie, Mama Morton was played by Queen Latifah.
Her singing wasn't bad at all, and it didn't make me want to run out of the theatre covering my ears. But I didn't feel her acting did the character any justice. Also, to be Mama Morton, you need to LOOK like a Mama Morton! Someone VERY authoritive and bossing the other girls around. The two leads looked older than her and so in scenes where she is trying to exert control and authority over a situation, it's very unconvincing. Queen Latifah just did it so well. In a way, I felt sorry for Kelly Osbourne cause she was way over her head. I think Sharon Osbourne, if she could sing half decently would have been a better choice.
