I totally agreee and believe that we should all look after our health.....

Our health is ultimately our wealth... Our dreams are all that more difficult to achieve if we don't have a healthy body to take us there...

It is our reponsibility to look after and to educate ourselves on current health issues.

Therefore I think we should all try and stop by at the following event!

expensive sunglasses

One thing I will never spend a lot of money on is expensive sunglasses....

Why? Cause I always lose them!!!

I just lost another pair...... sigh.....

I think I've lost (or broken) well over 10 pairs of sunglasses in the past few years..... maybe even 20...

I know people who spend over 1000 bucks on a pair of sunglasses...

I've never spent more than 30 bucks on a pair......

Next opportunity I get, I'll be buying a few to stock up....

I'm hopeless....

Friends actually wanted to give me a pair of original ray bans and oakleys.... I flatly refused....

When people ask me what I want for my birthday this year, I'm going to ask for lots of cheap sunglasses.....

MODA Fashion Show

On the way back to KL, one of the crew asked me
Crew : Jadi malam ni you balik lepak rumah ajelah... tengok tv....

Me : Tak de lah, I buat modelling kat MODA fashion show malam ni...

Crew : Ada aje ye awak ni nak buat!

Me : Baguslah tu! Tak bosan lah!

Arrive back at office, quickly sort a few things out then off to One Utama to model Richard Tsen's creation at the MODA (Malaysian Official Designer's Association) yearly fashion show.... (It's a big fashion show where Malaysian designer's come together and show off their creativity)

And the transformation began!

We started off wearing a scarf tied turban style around our heads which we then took off halfway through our segment on stage. The make up was inspired by geisha style make up...

You're wondering what the 'dress' looks like right?

Here you go!

I asked Richard a few things about the dress and this is a little bit of info about it...

It weighs 6 kilos, took over 100 hours to make, fabric is suede cotton and the inspiration behind it is that he wants to push the boundaries of structure against the body....

I was able to wear my jeans under this structure!

Dina sang live as we walked down the catwalk and the audience loved it!!!!

At the end Richard's segment, many people came up to us and said it was so different.... Richard's segment was the only one with live singing and the models not just walking up and down the catwalk but grooving as well....

Not too much hair spray in my hair... thank goodness!
Make up is all off now too.... phew!

I don't have the actual catwalk pictures, but as soon as I get them I will put them up...
Looking forward to a quiet weekend now..... and watching the CSI Supreme Sunday!

I didn't eat alone...

After we finished shooting today, of course mesti pergi makan kan!

So the crew and I went to a warung to eat.....

I saw a cute little kitten... obviously hungry... scared of humans though... Can't say I blame the poor thing...

I ordered my nasi ayam and felt guilty that I get to eat and the kitten has to scavenge for food...

So I bought a whole ayam goreng and fed it to the kitten... The little darling loved it!

Then I saw another kitten, looked exactly like my Joberg except this one was grey.... So, got that one chicken too...

Then saw a Mummy cat.... Obviously hungry too... I thought to myself, "Just one cruel twist of fate and I could one day end up pregnant, hungry and scavenging for food..."

So Mummy cat got chicken too.....

So I didn't eat chicken alone.... Point of story, please feed stray animals! Share you food with them...

Did I think of taking them home? of course I did! But I can't... Car ride is too far for them.... And I couldn't catch them...

By the way, the crew thought my little feeding warung Mummy cat and kittens mission with chicken actually cooked for humans was very amusing....

Oh well, at least I know that there are 3 happy felines at the warung tonight....

A WHAT?!

I may not be able to tell you where I am but I definitely want to tell you what happened today!

I was sitting in the van travelling between locations. When I got up to get out the van, suddenly my director gasped...

"Sasha! You're back is bleeding!"

WHAT??!!! WHY??!!

After a little chaos, trying to figure out why I had this huge wet blood stain the size of my palm on the back of my shirt, I wasn't in pain at all.... the cause was discovered...

A LEECH!!! Also known in Malay as pacat....

I had no idea the little parasite had it's fill from my back, left me bleeding and after a little searching, the little horror was found on the floor of the van.... all filled up!!! GROSS!!!! SICK!!!

This is my first experience with a leech.... and though it did not cause any pain at all, because of the size of the blood stain, I couldn't be shot or the rest of the day from my left side... the camera always had to be angled to my right...

Sigh.... just another day shooting on location.... the show must go on!

non stop... on the go...outrageous gown coming soon!

Fiesta Media Idola finished yesterday...

How did I do in my running?

LOUSY! I got 4th or 5th place..... don't really know... once I'm not eligible for a medal, it doesn't matter...

Photos are not ready yet.... SORRY!!! Coming.... coming....

Off again tomorrow to shoot at another location..... again, cannot reveal where....

On Friday though, I will be modelling an outrageous creation of Richard Tsen's at the Malaysian Official Designer's Association's yearly event.... yes, after our success at KL Fashion Week he has asked me to model for him again....

I went to try on his creation today....

My first reaction?

"Are you serious?!" (interpret this as you wish...)

I think I can walk in it..... I didn't take any pictures because I don't want to spoil the surprise....

I can tell you this though... it's not black!

And I will have to summon every inch of artistic confidence and individualism I have to carry off his creation....

I'm flattered Richard obviously thinks I can, if not he wouldn't ask me right?!

My mother believes that "with confidence, you can get away with wearing anything!"

I'll be reminding myself of that....

Fiesta Media Idola 2007 - Kuantan Pahang

Last night was the Fiesta Media Idola launch in Kuantan Pahang...

My God it was a big and grand affair!!!

The TV3 contingent had these people with us as our crowd entertainment when we walked into the stadium...

Fireworks lit up the sky....

And Kris Dayanti and Datuk Siti Nurhaliza rocked the stadium with their powerful vocals!

And I ran the 100 metre race at 12.30 am!!! Yes 'am'!!!

More to come from Fiesta Media Idola.....

Oriental Glam Wedding

I'm sure many of you know by now who Maple Loo is....
She's one of the judges on TV3's reality talent search show Gangstarz...Last Sunday was her wedding to Italian pretty boy, Federico Assaro. The theme was Oriental Glam - trust her to come up with a theme like that....
As one of her closest friends (we've known each other for like 13 years) I was to be with her at her parents house in the morning....

She was all made up and dressed and then her parents put the veil on her head...

I never knew this before but it seems it's customary in Chinese tradition where the bride's family and friends make life difficult for the groom before he can 'have' his bride.... he is to be teased and play games given to him by the friends and family....

It was so much fun! Maple wasn't allowed to come out of the room upstairs and I know she was dying of curiosity when she heard all of the screams of laughter coming from downstairs..

Federico was given a tray full of bras, panties and underwear and he had to pick out which one's were Maple's size. Ifhe chose a wrong pair, one of his friends in his entourage had to wear it!!! HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! I will let the next few photos speak for themselves!

Federico DID know which the correct ones were but once he realised wrong choices would result in humiliating his friends, he of course took the opportunity to 'dress' them up!!!

After a few more silly games (push ups, eating horrible food...) he was allowed to see Maple in the room... and she did look beautiful!
Next, we went to Tamarind Springs for lunch where I ate all of the fantastic food til I was totally stuffed! Yummy, yummy....
In the afternoon, I slept..... like a log! totally exhausted from the week's events and Maple had asked me to be MC for her glamorous wedding at the Renaissance that night so I needed the rest...

Because I was MC, I didn't get a chance to take that many photos.... but I can tell you it was very grand.... Ning sang 'Sweet Love' (beautifully of course...) while the bride and groom cut the cake. There were also several dance performances by people Maple had performed with as entertainment for the night...
(when I get photos of this from other people who attended the event too, I will put them up)

But let me tell you the most unpredictable thing that happened to me that night....

I invited some of Maple's closest friends up on stage to share a few short stories or memories they have of Maple.... Of course, I was expected to do the same....

Towards the end of my little speech, with NO WARNING at all... I choked, tears welled up in my eyes and I cried...... I CRIED!!! I could hear the ballroom go deathly quiet and everyone who knew me in the audience was shocked... I have NEVER cried openly in public like that before and I really didn't expect this to happen to ME! Such a cliche... crying at best friend's wedding....

I wanted to say more, but due to the unforeseen circumstances I cut my speech short, regained my composure as quickly as possible and carried on.....

I went down into the audience and found Vernon and still stunned from my little emotional outburst, I mistakenly introduced him as the co-host of Gangstarz... to which he whispered loudly to me 'I'm NOT CO-HOST! I'm CO-JUDGE!!!"
Aduh! Lucky somewhere in him he does love me, if not sure die one!!!!
As you can see from the picture above, I am sticking to my word of avoiding wearing black! I wasn't sure about buying this dress when I first saw it.. but the shopgirl insisted I try it on, and when I did, I knew I wanted it! I'm definitely being a bit more adventurous in my wardrobe escapades this year!
Once I've taken a picture with Mr Manager, must take with the diva also right!!!

For the remainder of the night I was seriously trying to 'tanam malu' from my little crying episode..... aduh! I'm still trying to 'tanam malu' actually..... I can just imagine Maple telling her children one day "Your Aunty Sasha cried at Mummy's wedding! On stage! In public! And she never does!"

This story will probably never go away..... sigh... nevermind.. there are worse things in life...
Above from left is Jeslina Hashim who was the wedding planner, me, Maple and Linda Hashim

After the reception was over, I wanted to leave (malu punya pasal) but Maple wouldn't let me.... "NO! YOU HAVE TO STAY! Come back to my room with me.. I want to talk to you..."

While I was waiting for her to say bye all the people who came that night, several people came up to me and said a variety of things...

"You're so sweet to cry...."
"Drama lah you..."
"You're a very good MC... You should be a tv host" (really, someone actually said this to me!)
"You must be very good friends..."

All I could do was smile and nod....

Finally Maple came up to me....

Me - I'm so sorry I cried... I didn't do it on purpose! I don't know what's wrong with me or what happened to me!

Maple - You made me and a lot of other people cry too ok.... But that's ok... only you could have done this.. thank you so much... you're the best...

then she hugged me and we both cried!

Aduh! How lah..... ( maple another one susah to cry ok!)

We both needed a few minutes to wipe tears and then we decided to go back to her hotel room so I could help her get her things together....

When she lifted up her skirt to walk, I gasped!!! I saw her shoes (nothing else ok!) and they were red jewelled shoes!!!!

As soon as we got back to the room, she took them off and I tried them on....

Oh my God Maple! Where did you find these shoes! They are gorgeous! They will make a fine addition to my red shoe collection! I have to go and buy them!!!

After watching me pose with the shoes for about 5 minutes in front of the mirror, Maple said..

"Take them..... I want you to have them..."

Oh NO! I can't take your wedding shoes! Just tell me where you got them and I'll go and get them...

"NO! I wanted to give you something as a thank you for all you've done for me today and since you love these so much, please have them..... I can't think of anybody better to have my wedding shoes...."

I almost cried again ok!

We finally said good bye and I went home...

I tried them on again when I got home.....

Just beautiful......

Maple and Federico... all the best.. now always and forever....

F1 Fantasy Gala Dinner & Earth Wind & Fire concert

On Friday, 6th of April, the 2007 F1 Fantasy Gala Dinner was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

And the hall did look pretty spectacular!

Everyone was so dressed up in the finest wear..... all the men wore suits (boring!).... it was so much more interesting to look at what the women were wearing.... there were beautiful long gowns, intricate kebayas and glittering baju kurungs.....

I chose to wear a long dress by local designer Edmunser. This dress is unbelievably comfortable and moves so nicely when one walks.... I dressed it up with dangling pearl earrings, diamante cuffs and a vintage Valentino evening bag....

The Emcee's for the night were the iconic Wan Zaleha Radzi and Mahadzir Lokman....

I admire both of them for their grace and elegance in handling functions... Wan Zaleha is still very highly regarded by the crew of TV3... Some of them who are still with TV3 nad used to work with her still have a lot of admiration and respect for her...

She also has the most flawless skin!!!

One of the entertainers for the night was Datuk Siti Nurhaliza. She sang only English songs.... and I have to say she sang them well..... I'm not so sure about the outfit she was wearing though... I've seen her wear nicer things....

Dinner was nice, but the higlight for me was when they put these huge chocolate decorations on the table.... i definitely finished most of the chocolates on my table!

After the dinner was over, everyone relocated to another hall to watch the legendary group Earth Wind & Fire..... Guests with the Fantasy Gala dinner were ushered to the exclusive 'black circuit area...

These guys have been around for like 30 years... Although I don't have any of their cd's, rcords or cassettes, I definitely recognised some of their songs. And the audience, especially the more mature individuals (don't hate me for saying that) were having the time of their life....

The show finished so late!!! And my brother some friends and myself got lost on our way out of the Convention Centre. We walked up and down the same corridor 3 times. I ended up taking of my high heels cause it was just to painful to walk anymore... Not long after that, I saw that many other ladies were carrying their jewelled shoes in their hands too!!!

But it was definitely a fun night...

Very sorry..... very busy...

To my faithful readers,

My sincere apologies for not updating much recently.... I've been travelling for shoots ad haven't had access to internet connections.... You're probably wondering what is it I'm working on...I have been requested not to reveal what I'm involved in until the launch.....

Lots and lots and lots has been going on.... As I write this my eyes are heavy from too little sleep and I'm about to leave for another round of intense shooting....

But as I always say, it's all good and I'm thankful for all of it... My exhaustion is merely a sign that I have a busy life and working hard... I am afraid of neither....

As soon as I get the chance to sit down at a computer with reliable internet connection, I will be happily blogging away again.....

In the meantime though, I found this picture of me from when I was about 6 years old, maybe even younger.... even then I was more than happy to sit in front of a camera and pose..... The photo was taken by one of my Mum's best friends who loves photography..

Little did anyone realise that this was the beginning of things to come....

www.glam.com.my

The April issue of GLAM magazine is now available for viewing online....

Just log on to www.glam.com.my

Chanel

Friday, in the late evening was the Chanel Ready-to-wear Spring Summer Collection at Maya Hotel....

I wore a vintage Chanel tweed jacket from the 1997 Spring Summer Collection, Chanel pants from 2003 Autmn Winter Collection, vintage Chanel handbag from the late 80's and Sungai Wang shoes... same ones I wore for Coach event..... Yes, proof that one take some of the most expensive items in fashion land and mix them with items from a shoping centre which has some of the best junky stuff!

Now these clothes, you could not find in Sungai Wang! I really wish I could...

The current trend seems to be very bare legs... micro mini skirts... Most mortal human beings could not walk around wearing what these models are wearing.... I would pair everything with long pants, long skirts and tights....

(by the way, I totally agree that skinny and underweight models should not be on the catwalk)

All of the clothes hung and moved beautifully.... and a lot of the stuff is definitely classic. As always, in true Chanel style, there was lots of black and white.

The detailing in Chanel clothes in legendary..... I'll give you an example.. on the inside of my tweed jacket at the bottom end of the body section, a small gold chain is sewn all the way around... why you ask? So that the jacket hangs perfectly and doesn't move unnecessarily.....

Everyone at the event was dressed in their Chanel best.... but I always find it humorous and almost sad when a group of female friends go to events and they all look like clones of each other... same hair, very similar clothes and variations of the same handbag... There is nothing wrong with being individual...please find your own identity and sense of style!

Of course, tjere were a lot of magazine editors there...

I saw Suzie Adnan from GLAM magazine who is a writer with the prestigious magazine and was one of the co-ordinators for the April cover shoot....

Want to know who is the man who transformed my hair and made me up to look like a barbie doll for my GLAM cover? Here he is.... Razlan......

My weekend should be fairly uneventful.... I'm going to enjoy it because next week is a very hectic week!
